Dr. Dority on the 33 Royal Principles of Health:
#32. The Principle of Organization

Welcome to “The Royal Principles of Health,” written by Dr. Michael Dority and presented by Selene River Press.
This fascinating series is based on the 33 principles of chiropractic identified by R.W. Stephenson, DC, PhC, in his
1927 classic Chiropractic Textbook. Dr. Dority calls these the “Royal Principles of Health” and invites you to learn
how these foundational tenets illustrate the forces of universal intelligence that guide and determine our existence.

The Harmony of a Body in Tune

Royal Principle #32 states: Coordination is the principle of harmonious action of all the parts of an organism, in fulfilling their offices and purposes.

The humus (human) being is a miraculous system of order and function, able to exist thanks to the balance and coordination of countless complex interactions. Our very survival depends on the harmonious communication between every cell, tissue, organ, and system in our bodies, all organized around the common goal of cellular homeostasis.

Biophysics examines how biological systems work through the application of the laws of physics. Through biophysics, we are able to identify how proteins are Innately designed to propagate health in our bodies. From conception to the end of our lives, proper nutrition is vital to the proteins that form the building blocks of who we are. All of our essential and foundational functions rely on the presence and utilization of functional proteins, making them the most complex, versatile molecules in the human body.

As a study of how the various processes of life utilize protein matrixes, biophysics raises many interesting questions, such as:

  • How does the brain store and process millions of informational impulses every second?
  • How does it process a response to this input of information?
  • How do cells know to allow passage of nutrition in and excrete waste products out?
  • How does the brain know when and how to regulate the movement of calcium to the compressed concave side of subluxated vertebra, forming calcific spurs that stabilize and protect?
  • How do the cells of the heart know how to heal and regain function when Standard Process Cataplex B-Core is ingested in the stomach?
  • How can a stressful thought or feeling release adrenaline from our adrenal glands and evoke a response to the stress?

D.D. Palmer, the founder of chiropractic, defines a mental impulse as “an incitement of the mind by Innate or spirit, in the form of an abrupt and vivid suggestion, prompting some unpremeditated action leading to unforeseen knowledge or insight.” Is this what occurred in Palmer’s mind when he made the connection that Harvey Lillard—the first patient of chiropractic—had become deaf due to an issue in his spine? Did a mental impulse lead Palmer to think he could restore Mr. Lillard’s hearing by finding and correcting the cause?

This cause-and-effect experiment changed the biophysics of Mr. Lillard’s body through a spinal adjustment that affected his neurological physiology. Palmer and Lillard had no knowledge of the innumerable mechanisms taking place as a result of the adjustment, all of which led to the restoration of Lillard’s hearing. The coordination of neurological function enabled the proper flow of functional protein molecules across and through Lillard’s cell membranes. This allowed biochemical and physiological restoration, healing, and recovery—the power of an adjustment.

In R.W. Stephenson’s Chiropractic Textbook, Royal Principle #32 states: “Coordination is the principle of harmonious action of all the parts of an organism, in fulfilling their offices and purposes.” In our bodies, the Innate goal is homeostatic function. This happens by the brain and body talking to each other. This communication, which passes through the spinal column, is our “Inner-net” and the method to expressing our health. Coordination of communication through our nervous system increases the Innate health and knowledge of our cells and their remembrance of their natural, healthy actions (for example, our Innate immune response). This occurs through our naturally endowed biophysical, biochemical, and bio-emotional cellular pathways. When these are in balance, we are capable of expressing our greatest health potential. Communication that is uninhibited and open increases the Innate trust and function of all our cellular processes, and this in turn promotes greater health.

Have we been asleep as we were robbed of our health? Let us all rise from our slumber to embrace the true, natural causes of health. Armed with the knowledge of these principles, our bodies can express their Innate natural health. Subluxations are like the saw or axe that cuts down the Christmas tree. The tree is severed, or subluxated, from its source of life. How long will it be before symptoms of starvation show up? With the life flow of the sap and nutrition from the soil no longer available, the tree’s cells begin to dry up and wither. The tree dies a slow death because its Innate wisdom and intelligence has been cut off. It can no longer function as it was created to. Are we like the tree? What is the source of life for our humus body? Just as we can put chemicals in the water to prod the tree to look nice for a few more days, we do the same thing to our bodies by ingesting a drug of some sort.

Dr. Royal Lee stated in 1951: “One of the biggest tragedies of human civilization is the precedence of chemical therapy over nutrition. It’s the substitution of artificial therapy over natural, of poisons over food, in which we are feeding people poison in trying to correct the reactions of starvation.”

It appears then, by observation of cause and effect, that the only way to produce health is to maintain proper and efficient nerve flow from brain to body and to supply proper nutrition to the body. This rings true to the principle of KISS (Keep It Simply Simple). As the wisdom of the ancients declared long ago, “I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life.”

This is why we share the results and stories of the health victories we experience. Declaring our victories from the past empowers us to express that same hope for today. This history is a stone in our sling of health, slaying the Goliath of sickness and suffering. We need to take our health back by grasping the stones of the chiropractic spinal adjustment and Standard Process wholefood nutrition. Because of our inborn inheritance of endowed health, we can embrace its natural actions in our bodies. Coordination and harmonious action are the mighty stones that defeat the false Goliath of sickness.

Some things to think about:

  • Research and clinical data show beyond any doubt that chiropractic adjustments change our physiology.
  • The natural state of the mind-body is to be healthy.
  • The natural state of the mind-body is empowered with a Life Force.
