Finding Comfort in
Simple Steps to Everyday Self-Health

Even the most avid self-healther can lose their way every once in a while. It begins innocently enough. Something comes along to throw you off your daily routine, and all of a sudden it’s been a month since you’ve made a weekly meal plan or found the motivation to exercise.

But then one day you wake up feeling a little off, and you’re not sure why. This happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Just like everyone else, we’ve been plugging along with this global pandemic. My hubby and I are considered essential workers, and we feel very fortunate about that. It means that daily life for us hasn’t been entirely different, other than the face masks stored in our cars and our boys being home all of the time.

So why the feeling of inner chaos?

I’ve been sitting with this question and trying to find inspiration to get back to writing. For the past few months, I’ve let this habit fall away, and I’ve missed the creative outlet. Needing to remind myself what I enjoy about writing, I reacheTrophiad for my copy of Trophia: Simple Steps to Everyday Self-Health.

It was like reconnecting with an old friend. Flipping through the pages and stopping to read the blurbs here and there helped me realize something important: I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants instead of sticking to my daily routines, so it really shouldn’t be any wonder that I’ve been feeling a sense of inner chaos.

Simple Steps to Everyday Self-Health helped me remember that our everyday lives don’t need to be complicated just because we live in complicated times. As a matter of fact, taking control of what we can control is the perfect approach to self-healthing—especially when we hear such conflicting information about how to keep ourselves and everyone we care about healthy and safe.

Reliving the whys and hows of my self-health journey in the pages of Simple Steps to Everyday Self-Health helped set me back on course. In particular, going through the “Take the Next Step” sections is reminding me of my daily rhythms and how they’ve never led me astray. Step by step, my inner chaos is resolving into a much more orderly sense of calm. It feels pretty damn powerful.

If you’ve been struggling with your own inner chaos, I hope you can find comfort in Simple Steps to Everyday Self-Health too. It makes a really great gift for that person in your life who could use some orderly calm. Make it a double gift by including a note that says you’d like to work through it together. It certainly can’t hurt to give it a try.
