The great Renaissance sculptor and painter Michelangelo declared, “The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.”
As we begin a new year of great expectations, goals, and accomplishments lets set our goals for attaining a higher more functional and vibrant level of health in the coming year. I see! It is possible. You have been given your body just as a Gardener is given a portion of ground to plant the seeds of a future harvest and blessings of abundance. Gardener means “cultivator” and, from the Old English, it means “warrior.” Thus, you are a warrior fighting and cultivating for the health of your very own “body garden.” You and I are innately given the tools to reap an abundant harvest of health in our bodies. I see! Wow, amazing! Now, I see that all, every human being, even myself, has the potential to travel through life in greater health and wellness, living in a garden of health.
I see that all the principles and regulatory organization making up every cellular component in our bodies is endowed with the expression of Life. This is a universally ordained process in the creation of a human being. I see that the principles always work when you work the principles. The desire to embrace and apply health principles into your life, and to help others to begin learning, cultivating, and applying the ordained principles of health, produces the blessings of a harvest of health.
To be healthy you have to take 100% responsibility for the actions necessary to achieve the level of health you desire. You are the one who creates the quality of life and health you enjoy. Have we ever blamed someone else for our health challenges and circumstances? Why? Have we complained about our health and declared, Why me? Why did this happen to me? If so, then we are not taking our health seriously enough.
I see! If we want to be successful in expressing our true health potential we must stop making excuses, blaming, and complaining. And we must take total responsibility for our failures and our successes. When we acknowledge that we are the one who created our present level of health, then we can take charge of creating a new and even greater level of health.
I see. There is a simple solution to what seems to be complications on the road to health. The solution begins with a thought. A picture in your mind. What vision of health do you see for yourself? Michelangelo stated, “I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” You also have the power to create and carve out the vision of health from the stones that encase your mind. I see, I can, I will carve and polish my picture of health. Now set it free! Release yourself from the stones that are encasing your expression of radiant health.
You and I are just like Michelangelo. He declared, “A man paints with his brains and not with his hands.”
A Five-Step Guide to a Healthy 2026
Begin to think of health and wellness as an investment strategy that yields health, vitality, and a prosperous life.
- Unlearn and let go of ideas and habits that have not been working. For example, let go of ideas like: My family history reveals these illnesses, so it is my cross to bear. There is nothing I can do, it’s in my genes. Growing up, I always ate cereal for breakfast and diabetes runs in my family. Oh well! We are genetically dammed with diabetes. Instead, adopt new ideas like: I have several symptoms that I don’t understand, but I’m going to find a holistic healthcare provider who is trained in Standard Process nutrition and get some help. Or, I know sugary foods are not good breakfast food so I’m going to make some eggs and whole grain toast instead.
- Find a good doctor of chiropractic. Chiropractic is the original holistic healthcare. The chiropractic spinal adjustment releases pressure that is traumatizing the nervous system causing dis-ease. For our nervous system to function in health it be must free from the three toxic causes of traumatic insult: Traumas(physical injuries), Toxins (chemical stressors), and Thoughts (emotional/mental stress). The basic foundation of chiropractic is based on the idea that our bodily functions are innately controlled by the Life Force moving through our nervous system encased in our spine. B. J. Palmer stated, “Innate regulates all. It is that abstract, intangible, unseen, perfect, immaculate, infinite and infallible regulatory factor in all times, all ways.” Innate literally means “born within.” We have born within us the ability to live in health.
- Feed the nervous system properly. Growing up, we always butchered our own animals, and the choice meats were the brain and organ meats. My grandparents lived on their own into their 90’s. They had always feasted on cow brain scrambled with eggs, and beef heart and tongue from freshly butchered animals. Today we may not have easy access to these wonder foods, but Standard Process (SP) has a wonderful option and answer to this dilemma. Neurotrophin PMG supports healthy functions in our central nervous system. Min-Tran provides the mineral complexes that support neurotransmitters regulating moods and emotions. And Cataplex B-Core provides the whole B complex to repair and maintain nerves.
- Partnership: Combine your innate healing abilities with your chiropractor’s skills and knowledge of Standard Process whole food concentrates. Your doctor’s knowledge and understanding of body structure, holistic diet, and SP whole food formulations will help you learn many exciting skills that you can apply in your daily life and on your health journey.
- Research and Learn: Get your hands, mind, and eyes on and into the book, From Soil to Supplement: A course in food, diet, and nutrition taught by Dr Royal Lee. This compilation of short articles on nutrition will enlighten you with fundamentals such as the difference between synthetic vitamins and vitamin complexes, pasteurized vs. raw milk, refined vs. whole grains, and the affect that soil quality has on our food. It is a great introduction to Dr. Lee’s common-sense approach to understanding real food. And for recipes and good eating habits, The Complete Cooking Techniques for the GAPS Diet by Monica Corrado.
How do we reduce the chances of developing sickness? Take action. Learning is the foundation of action. Learning and action releases you from the bondage of sickness caused by physical, biochemical, nutritional, and emotional ropes and chains. The pain that comes from taking action is sharp and acute, yet it makes you grow. The pain created by inaction is slow, degrading, weakening and decays your body physically, mentally and emotionally into a death spiral.
I SEE! I have a purpose. I reach for it because I see it. I grasp it because now I see it: The New World of Health.
